Ward at Wukro Hospital, 03/08/2012 |
Ethiopia utilises 10% of its GDP to repay debts and interests to the First World, pushing them to reduce the budget allocated for health services and education to a 2% and a 4% of the GDP.
Wukro Hospital is the only hospital for
a population of 350,000. There are 120 beds available. Since the Ethiopian
government cut down the budget for health services people have to pay when
attending the hospital. It’s only little money but, from that moment, only one
third of the beds are occupied.
